You can select from all cafes, restaurants, places amusement and public transport in your city. You can also spot any point on Google Maps.

You may disclose your real name in your messages if you trust the other party enough, or may chose not to tell your name until the first meeting.

Your member name should be at least 4 characters and at most 20 characters in length, and can include at least one letter, number, “@”or underscore ( “_”)

In order to complete the membership process, you have to enter the activation code in the page directed. You will then receive a message confirming your membership has been activated. You can now sign in with your email address or your member name and your password.

You can change your country info at the configuration page. Correct info of your country will make Catoen more convenient and fast and let you view the content about your country.

You have received a malicious e-mail. Do not reply at all! Catoen will never send such e-mails. Take the necessary measures.

Click the “Forgot my password” link on the home page and enter your email address. A new password will be generated and posted to your email.

Catoen keeps the passwords in a high security algorithm, therefore destroys the forgotten passwords and generates a new password for you. The new email is kind of hard-to remember, so you’re strongly recommended to change your password at the configuration page.

You can change your e-mail at the configuration page and log on again with your new email with the new activation code.

Make sure that the e-mail address in the configuration page is working.

No. However, your profile is there so that other people will have a first impression about you. Internet statistics show that the more information you have on your profile space, the more people will be interested in you, and you will benefit from the results soon.

• Click on the “My photos” tab on “My Profile” page.
• “Click on “Browse” and select a photo from your computer
• Put in a few words about the photo as a description. The description will be seen by other members.
• Click on “Upload” . A new page will appear with a crop tool.
• Grab the frame at the corners and define an area. This area will be exactly how your photo looks. Once you’re sure, click “Save”.
• Your photo is saved. You can upload up to 9 photos.

For other members to be able to view your profile, your mutual records should be matched. In other words, only those people with same time and place information can see each other’s profiles.

Catoen is for people who are not married or in a relationship.

Save your profile and click on “How do I look” button. People viewing your profile will see it exactly the same.

You may put in as many records as you can. All records are maintained in the system for 2 months.

You can only put in a record for today or a past date. You cannot put in records for future dates.

Click the “Find him/her” tab on the main page. You’ll see a four-step screen.

Step 1: “Where did you see him/her?”

If you are going to put a record in one of your favourite places, select the “At my favourite place"

To put in a new record, select either “I’ll pick a place on the map” or “In a place or a vehicle” to pick a place from the drop-down list.

While spotting on the map, double-click to zoom in, and drag the red flag into the rectangular area. Then click on “Next” to continue to the third step

When selecting a place or a vehicle, the list will change according to different countries and cities.

If you think you are going to use a particular place more than once, check the “Tag and add to favourites” and put in a short name for it.


Step 2: “When did you see him/her?”

Use the calendar to enter date. Answer the questions“When did you go there” and “How long did you stay” accordingly, make sure you include the time you saw him/her.


Step 3: “Security Test”

You may be matched with more than one people who have the same time and place data with yours. If you do not want to be bothered by anyone other than intended, you may ask for a 3-question test on your appearence on that specific day, so the right person will be able to pass the test and reach you.

Pick 3 of 15 Q & A. If the number of correct answers are less than you asked in the Settings page, the system will decide that the person who took the test is not the one you’re looking for, and cannot send you messages. Otherwise that person is free to send you messages. The test is not obligatory


Step 4: "Type in your message"

A tag for each record is necessary so that you can remember it later. In “Your Message” field, you can write whatever you think will do to remind you to the other party.
Please note that this message is not private between you and the one you’ve been matched with. Anyone with same place and time data will be able to read it..However this message has nothing to do with private messages you’ll exchange later once you’ve been matched. Click on “Save” and you’re done.

Click on “I’ll browse my records” to see all of your records. On this page you can check which are matched.

Click on “I’ll browse my records”. You are not allowed to edit messages once they are saved, but you can delete a particular message and type in a new one.

Click on “My Favourite places”, then click on “Add a favourite place”. Select the place and save it with a tag that you can recognize the place easier.

Click on “My Favourite places”, then click on “Delete a favourite place”. Select the place and click on the Delete icon.

Men looking for women can only match with women looking for men.
Men looking for men can only match with men looking for men..
Women looking for women can only matche with women looking for women

Catoen’s security system will not allow other options.

Let’s take an example of John and Jane.. John was out with friends in a bar when he saw Jane. They were mutually attracted and exchanged looks during their stay but somehow they were not able to meet that day.
Now John put in a record on Catoen of where and when he saw Jane and well, he started hoping.

Eventually Jane also put in a record of the same place and date. Now they both can see in the “Do I have matching records” link that each have matching records.

John instantly wanted to send Jane a message but hey, the other party called a test of 3 questions!
1-Did I smoke?
2-How many people were we?
3-What colour was my hair??

Jane asked for this test so nobody else with same date and place data except for John would bother her. John gave the correct answers, as they were especially for him to answer.
Note: Jane wouldn’t necessarily ask for this test.

John’s answers were sent along with his message. Catoen’s servers checked his answers with hers. John has passed the test and his message is relayed to Jane, who had previously selected in her Options page the minimum number of correct answers to pass the test.

Jane saw in her main page that she has a message. She read it and replied. Her message was relayed instantly without a test (assuming that John did not call for the test)

They both agreed to keep messaging for a while so they would know each other better.
However, extensive messaging is not allowed. Even though the members may have been matched, Catoen deletes their records after some time and breaks the connection. The reason for this is that Catoen thinks people may not any longer be interested in each other if they have not made friends already.
It gives you the option to make friends and send unlimited messages to each other, or just give up.

John thinks it’s already time to be friends now (and the time of his record is limited) and requests friendship.

Jane receives the request and accepts it. Now they are friends on Catoen. Unless one of them blocks the other, they can freely send messages to each other, and they can see if the other is online. Catoen has served the purpose!

You can automatically check all of your records through “Do I have matching records” link in the main page.

“My messages” > “Write new message” OR
Click on the message icon below the picture of your friend in “My friends” section.

Click on “Send a message” on their profile or the matching entry line.

First you need to be matched. Once matched, you can be friends with the other party instantly or after a number of messages. Friends have unlimited message privileges. When you’ve become friends, Catoen has done its job. It depends solely on you what happens next.

Unfortunately your request is sent instantly.

There’s no way to make this up. However, you can in turn send YOUR friend request so the other party will know you may have pressed the wrong button.

Go to “My friends”, click on the delete icon under their picture. Remember, this action will automatically delete your name from the list of the other party.

We do not send any particular messages to your friends, but they will know eventually since you will also be removed from their lists.

You simply can’t be friends with the sender of the request. They will not receive a message that you have turned down their request, but will understand since you will not appear in their friend list.

1 - You must accept the legal and membership agreements to be able to benefit from Catoen’s services.
2 - You cannot change your username once you’ve registered with it.
3 - You cannot change your gender preference after you’ve registered (at least in Catoen)
4 - Catoen’s software matches only people who have corresponding gender preferences
